About the Data Archive

The Informatics History Archive (ITA) is a continuously expanding digital collection of noteworthy data and documents in the history of Hungarian informatics. The editorial team is guided by the goal of preserving the fading memories of living professionals, as well as descriptions of events and computing tools characteristic of the era. The construction of the Archive – within the framework of the John von Neumann Computer Science Society – has been ongoing since 2013.

A gyűjtő és feldolgozó munka során informatikaként értelmezzük a számítástudomány, a számítástechnika és a távközlés szakterületeit, beleértve a különféle hardver- és szoftvertermékeket, illetve alkalmazási rendszereket, (országos) adatbázisokat, valamint az elektronikus rendszerek szervezési eszközeit.

Our main collection areas:

• persons from the history of Hungarian IT about whom we have information – in the case of living persons, with their personal consent,
• institutions, and the products they produce and/or usesystems, hardver- és szoftverproducts,
• the history of domestic IT is more significant events(until 2025 inclusive),
• a hazai informatika történetével kapcsolatos írásos anyagok és videók .
