Our celebratory column was prepared on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the John von Neumann Computer Science Society. The history of the Society, which was organized to support Hungarian computer science culture, is an integral part of Hungarian IT history.

The column is a contribution of the Information History Forum (iTF) to the celebration of the Society's 50th anniversary. The editors of the column are Bálint Dömölki, Péter Garami, Miklós Havass, Eszter Kertészné Gérecz, Károly Megyery, Gábor Rozsnyai, Edit Sántáné-Tóth, Judit Talyigás.

The column presents events that we are proud of and individuals whose work has helped us achieve our goals.

The column contains

• the Picture Book, which commemorates the Society's most important events on 100 pages,
• the officers of the Company's 50 years and their activities,
• the awards that the Society has awarded over 50 years, and the list of people honored by the NJSZT,
• the 50 year honorees, those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Society's activities over the past 50 years.

The membership of the NJSZT carries out its daily work in professional, regional organizations, sometimes through committees.
