Sarolta Zarda
Between 1974 and 1988, he was a system architect, programmer and computer system analyst at Infelor, the Computer Applications Research Institute (Számki), the State Administration Computer Service (ÁSZSZ) and the Computer Applications Company (Számalk).
In 1991, he founded the first Hungarian business school, the International Business School-Budapest (Számalk).
He is credited with founding the first state-recognized foundation college in Hungary, the Gábor Dénes College (Számalk), in 1992, and spreading the distance learning method in Hungary and neighboring countries.
In 1996, he participated in the founding of the Számalk Vocational High School, as well as in 2000 in the founding of the International School of Budapest (Számalk).
Between 2002 and 2009, he was the CEO of Számalk Education and Information Technology Ltd.
Since 2007 (and before that between 1997-2002) he has been the rector of Gábor Dénes College (GDF), then his rector's advisor, and rector emeritus.
Participation in professional bodies (incomplete): Member of the Accreditation Committee of ECDL Examination Centers (1998-2008); Member of the Distance Education Subcommittee of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (2001-2004); Member of the Scientific Council of Higher Education (2004-2007); Member of the European Distance Education Network Executive Committee (1998-2004).
Publications: 2 dissertations, 4 notes (textbooks), 6 profession-specific studies, 20 Hungarian and 16 foreign language articles, periodicals.
His main awards: Tarján Award (NJSZT, 1996); Hungarian Higher Education Memorial Medal (Minister of Education, 2000); Gábor Dénes Award (Novofer Foundation, 2003); International Socrates Award (European Business Assembly, Oxford, 2007); Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2009); Tódor Kármán Award (Minister of National Resources, 2010).
