  • High school teacher in mathematics and physics - ELTE - 1972.

  • After 1972, he first taught at the Vas Street Vocational School of Economics, then was an editor at the Technical Publishing House, later a methodological researcher at the National Pedagogical Institute, and then again the responsible editor of the Technical Publishing House. He promoted the publication of Donald Knuth's book introducing the TeX description language. He played a leading role in the introduction of the TeX typesetting program, which later formed the technical background of his book publishing house.

    In 1989, the Academic Publishing House and the Mathematical Research Institute founded Typotex Publishing House (TeX is in the name of the publishing house). From its foundation until 2015, he led the company independently, then as co-director. He created the modern technical background for printing technical and mathematical books. The publishing house he led played a significant role in the publication of higher education textbooks and notes.

    He was the inventor and implementer of many pioneering initiatives. Between 1993 and 2000, he created the Hungarian Books in Print database, which contains the complete list of books in circulation in Hungary. He was one of the first to embark on the domestic publication of e-books. – In 2003, he dreamed up the Babelmatrix project, where excerpts from selected works of world literature can be read in the original language and in translation.

    He launched an evening series of high-quality professional lectures. He persistently fought for the survival, support, and revival of Hungarian academic book publishing, which was in a difficult situation.

    From 1983 to 1986, he was the head of the games program section of Mikrokátótógép Magazin.
    In 2015, the Information Technology for Society Association organized the eFestival competition for the 15th time, showcasing the excellent digital content development practices of the domestic online and multimedia industry, and received the eFestival Lifetime Achievement Award by unanimous decision of the jury.
