    He began his career in 1970 at the International Computer Training and Information Center (SZÁMOK) of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) as a systems organizer (he contributed to the development of the country's first IT systems organizer training curriculum; and to the domestic adaptation of the International Labor Office's (ILO) ISIS library application software).

    Between 1975 and 1994, he worked in agricultural administration (at the institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food (MÉM), and later in an international private consulting company (EUROPARITÁS Ltd.) in various IT system development and management consulting fields.

    He earned a doctorate (1982), then pursued scholarship studies in several European countries and the USA. In 1995, he earned a candidate's degree as an independent graduate student.
    He then worked in higher education as an appointed college professor: he was head of department and deputy director general for science and international affairs at the Szarvas College of the University of Debrecen (DE) (1995–1998), head of department at the Modern College of Business Sciences (MÜTF) (1998-1999), and then head of research program (2000-2005). He became a habilitated doctor of the University of Debrecen in 2000.

    In 1998, he was a 4-month “Japan Society for the Promotion of Science” fellow; then between 2008 and 2009, he was a research fellow in Japan with a grant from the Japan Foundation.
    He then founded the HÉLIA Local Food Chain Innovation Professional Workshop and College at Edutus University. As Professor Emeritus, he currently continues to provide talent training for scientific work at Edutus University and at the Doctoral School of Economics and Regional Sciences (GRTDI) of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) in Gödöllő.

    He was the secretary of the Agricultural Application Department founded in 1983 within the framework of the Hungarian Agricultural Society (NJSZT), and the initiator and organizer of national FORUMS (1983-1988). As a representative of the Central and Eastern European region, he was an elected member of the Executive Council of the International Farm Management Association (IFMA) based in England (1988-2013). He was the executive secretary general of the Hungarian Farm Management Development Foundation (FAMA) (1993-2007), the initiator of the establishment of the Hungarian Agricultural Informatics Association (1997) and the vice president of the Association between 1997 and 1999. Member of the Italian BIOSPHERA International Scientific Association, International Association of Rural Tourism Experts (IAERT) (1998-2018). Member of the Hungarian Agricultural Economics Association (MAKE) (since 1990).
