György Voloncs

From 1978 to 1990, he was a research fellow at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology (GTI) and researched the areas of computer-aided design and manufacturing automation. During an international project, he primarily participated in the development of a system supporting the technological design of NC turning, and also worked on the creation of assembly technology systems. In the late 1980s, he successfully connected an AutoCAD software, which at that time only supported 2D modeling, with a technological design system developed at his workplace.

Az 1990-es rendszerváltáskor. a kutatóintézeti háttér megszűnésekor barátjával és volt kollégájával, Falk Györggyel megalapította a VARINEX Informatikai Zrt.-t, illetve annak jogelődjét. A VARINEX Zrt. bő negyedszázada a hazai CAD/CAM piac meghatározó szereplője; mérnöki szoftverjei és szolgáltatásai sok helyen megtalálhatók.
Az 1990-es évek elejétől foglalkozik térinformatikai alkalmazásokkal, fejlesztésekkel, adatbázis építésekkel - leginkább a közmű szektorban és az önkormányzatoknál.

In 1996, he participated in the founding of CADvilág magazine and publisher; the publication, which positioned itself as a forum for Autodesk software users, was published under his leadership for 12 years, until the printed version was discontinued.
