Dénes Vadász
Between 1967 and 1977, he was a research associate at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Technology (GTI) in Budapest. He is known for designing, programming and industrially introducing computer technology design software packages. He played a significant role in the development of the TAUPROG software systems.
In 1978, he obtained the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Technical University of Heavy Industries (NME). Between 1978 and 1984, he was a senior research fellow and then a scientific advisor at the GTI. In 1984, he was awarded the title of Candidate of Technical Sciences at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Between 1985 and 1988, he was the founding director of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Computer Center; the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Computer Center was a unit serving the entire university. In 1988, he was appointed as an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Miskolc (ME).
Between 1989 and 1995, he was appointed as the head of the Department of Informatics at the Institute of Informatics of the University of Budapest. He was one of the key figures in the establishment of the Institute, and the Department of Informatics within it. He played a major role in developing the curriculum of the Technical Informatics major, which started in 1993. Between 1995 and 2007, as the head of the Department of General Informatics at the Institute of Informatics of the University of Budapest, he managed to establish a quality education recognized abroad and throughout the country in a short time.
He played an important role in establishing the correspondence department of the university-level supplementary Technical Informatics major, and then served as the head of this major. As a lecturer at the Hatvany József Doctoral School of Informatics, he taught generations of doctoral students and participated in the work of the Doctoral School Council.
He played a decisive role in developing the curriculum and requirements system of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSc) and in launching the training courses. He invested significant work in preparing the accreditation application for the Master of Science in Computer Science and the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSc). He was a member of one of the committees of the Hungarian Accreditation Committee.

In his memory, the Ministry of Education established the Dénes Vadász Memorial Mug Award in 2009, while the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics organizes the Dénes Vadász Informatics Competition annually for primary and secondary school students.
