Tamas Tapay
He graduated from Piarist High School in 1957. From 1948 to 1959, he worked in various jobs, mostly for transportation companies (Mechanical Company, Budapest Freight Forwarding (TEFU) National Company, TEFU Center, Road Transport Directorate).
In 1959, he was appointed head of the Machine Data Processing and Organizing Office of the Ministry of Transport and Postal Services' AVIG (Automobile Transport Directorate General) - the legal predecessor of Volán Elektronika. In the following 2 years, he went on professional study trips to Austria and Switzerland at the invitation of the UNIVAC company (over time, UNIVAC 1004, 1005, 1050 and 9400 computers were put into operation at the company).
In 1965, Volán Elektronika was established, and he was appointed director.
In 1981, he was relieved of his duties as director of Volán Tröszt Elektronika, then known as Volán Tröszt Elektronika, and appointed as a technical and economic consultant. Later, he was transferred to Autoker.
His awards: Silver Order of Merit for Labor (Hungarian State, 1973); National Defense Order (1973); Ferenc Reiter Prize (Budapest Metropolitan Council, 1980); Gold Order of Merit for Labor (Hungarian State, 1980).
