    Between 1969 and 1975, he worked at the Department of Industrial Economics at the Budapest University of Technology (BME), and then between 1975 and 1978, he was a leading operations researcher at the Computer Science Institute of the Ministry of Labor (MÜM). In 1978, he earned a doctorate in educational methodology from the József Attila University of Szeged (JATE).

    Between 1978 and 1982, he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the College of Finance and Accounting (PSZF), while returning part-time to the Department of Industrial Economics at BME. From 1983, he became a college professor at PSZF and the deputy director and then director of the Institute of Computer Science.

    From 1986 to 1987, he was the deputy director of the Industrial Management Training Institute.

    From 1988, he became the director of the BME University Informatics Center. In the meantime, he taught at the University's Department of Industrial Management and Business Economics.

    Between 1995 and 2000, he was a head of department at the Department of Business Management of the Technical College of Light Industry (KMF); from 1997, he was the Director General of the KMF. From 2000, he was the Director of the Institute of Business Management of the Keleti Károly Faculty of Economics (now known as the Budapest Technical College, BMF), and was also the Dean of the faculty for 7 years. In the meantime, he also taught at the University of West Hungary.

    During his 38 years of teaching activity, he has taught Business Economics, Information Systems, Economic Statistics, Management, Quality Control, Decision Support Systems, Economic Informatics and other decision theory subjects. His research areas partly overlap with his previous teaching areas: educational methodology, decision theory, decision support systems, corporate efficiency analysis.
    He has worked as a consultant for numerous companies and institutions.

    He participated in scientific and other professional committees (such as: Hungarian Academy of Sciences Organization Theory and Methodology Subcommittee; Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK) Electrical Engineering Section; BME Catch-up to European Higher Education Fund (FEFA); Credit and Interdisciplinary Doctoral Committees).
    He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences; the Economic Society; the Organization and Management Scientific Society (SZVT) and the Hungarian Society of Management.

    For his work, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary in 2017.
