Andrea Sziebig
After graduating from university, he began his career at the Institute for Information Technology Industry Research (HIKI) in 1980, where he worked as a developer - first as a research assistant and then as a research associate. His professional career continued in 1986 in Prague, at the local office of Videoton. After returning home, he utilized his professional knowledge in a different field, changed sectors and headed towards IT media.
From 1990, he worked as an editor at the magazine Alaplap, then from 1995, he continued his career at IDG (International Data Group), where he contributed to the weekly magazine Computerworld as an editor for two years and then as editor-in-chief for 5 years.
In 2003, he launched ITBUSINESS magazine within the German Vogel Burda, which he managed as editor-in-chief, then bought it out at the end of 2007, and has been managing it as managing editor-in-chief since 2008. Thanks to continuous business development, he has developed a complex media portfolio, and the resulting platform has become an indispensable market leader for players in the ICT market.
By organizing and personally participating in the IT Business Club and other high-quality professional forums, he has provided opportunities for the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) profession and the information society to engage in dialogue and hold discussion forums. He is the creator and initiator of several IT awards (e.g. ITBUSINESS AWARD, ITBEHAVIOUR AWARD, Top 25 awards, etc.).
His awards: IT Journalist of the Year (a jury of businessmen, professionals and public figures, 2007); Professional Medal for the Information Society (Minister of National Development, 2009); Medal of Merit for Information Communication (Minister of National Development, 2015); and he was the first to receive the IT Journalist Lifetime Achievement Award (NJSZT, 2022); Hungarian Silver Cross of Merit (Hungarian State, 2023).
