    After graduating from university, he continued his studies at the doctoral school of the Kalmár László Institute of Informatics of József Attila University (JATE); his supervisor was Tibor Csendes. He also studied in Spain for two semesters and worked in the research group of Cygron Kft.

    He has been teaching at the University of Szeged (SZTE) since 1997. He defended his doctoral thesis entitled Packings of congruent circles in squares – limits, repeating patterns and minimal polynomials in Szeged in 2006. He is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Optimization of the Institute of Informatics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics (TTIK) of SZTE, where he mainly teaches the subjects Nonlinear Programming, Basics of Information Society, Approximate and Symbolic Computation, and Operations Research.

    His research topics include the history of mathematics and computer science in Hungary, nonlinear programming, and the topic of circle wrappings and coverings. He researches the legacy of Hungarian mathematicians and computer scientists at home and abroad. By 2019, he had published one hundred and fifty works and given one hundred lectures at various conferences and events at home and abroad.

    He is a member of the Hungarian Operations Research Society, the public body of the Operations Research Committee of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Szeged Regional Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Interdepartmental Standing Committee on the History of Science and Technology of the Department of Philosophy and History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Physics, Informatics and Mathematics Committee of the Szeged Academic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (SZAB) and the board of trustees of the Informatics History Museum Foundation (ITMA). He is currently the chairman of the Informatics Working Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (SZAB).

    Awards: Best Talk of Section Award (Conference of PhD Students in Computer Science, Szeged, 2000); Gyula Farkas Award (Bolyai János Mathematical Society, 2006); Crystal Prize "The best paper" (CompSysTech'09 Conference, Ruse, Bulgaria, 2009); Memorial Plaque for Hungarian Higher Education (Minister of Education and Culture, 2010); János Bolyai Medal (Kinga Széchenyi Memorial Medal) (Bolyai János Memorial Conference, Budapest-Marosvásárhely, 2010); Neumann Award (NJSZT, 2021).
