János Svéd
After graduating from university, he joined the Telecommunications Research Institute (TKI), in the department headed by András Rét. He was involved in researching computer networks and designing and building a node computer.
From 1974 he worked in the Computer Development Department of the Telephone Factory. He participated in the work of the 7th Expert (Remote Data Processing) Section of the Unified Computer System (ESZR), including the development of the Binary Synchronous Communication (BSC) data transmission standard. He was responsible for the planned purchase of intelligent terminal licenses at the Telephone Factory from the world's second largest hardware manufacturer at the time, Burroughs.
He has lectured several times at the Institute of Continuing Education of the Hungarian University of Technology (BME).
From 1982, he and his colleagues participated in various software and remote data processing projects as an entrepreneur, as a member of the Hálózat Távadatfeldoğlu Gmk., then Kft., with his colleagues. One of the most significant of these was the development of the IBM 3270 terminal emulation for the VT-32 minicomputer, commissioned by the Videoton Development Institute (VIFI).
From 1989, he was responsible for organizing the distribution and sales of the products of the American software company Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) in Hungary, Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union, together with András Rét.
Since 1995, he has been involved in the implementation and sales of integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for small and medium-sized enterprises; first - at KFKI Számítástechnikai Rt. - with the MFG/PRO system of the American company QAD. From 2000 until his retirement in 2014, as the sales director of MultiSoft Számítástechnikai Kft., his task was to implement and sell the Navision (later Microsoft Dynamics NAV) system in Hungary. The result of his work is several hundred successful domestic ERP projects.
