    His first job was at the Nagy Lajos High School in Pécs, where he taught until 1964.
    In 1965, he joined the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Computer Science Center (MTASZK) in Budapest, where he worked on economic applications of computer science.

    In 1972, he was one of the founders and head of the Computer Science Group of the SOTE (Semmelweis University of Medicine), where they dealt with the health applications of computer science. Their most significant achievement was the processing of nationwide surveys of newborns in the 1970s. He gave lectures to medical students on differential diagnostics and mathematical statistics.

    Between 1980 and 1998, he headed the Applications Department at the State Administration Computer Service (ÁSZSZ) of the Central Statistical Office. In the early 1980s, the department mainly dealt with healthcare IT systems, later expanding to include geospatial applications related to land surveying.

    In 1973, he was a founding member of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the National Institute of Health Sciences.
