Mihály Sipos (1956)
From 1979, he was an engineer-business representative at Budavox Communications Foreign Trade Co., Ltd., then a development engineer at Mikroelektronikai Vállalat (MEV) (he participated in the development and production of the ICOMAT IC testing machine). Later, for a short time, he was responsible for the measuring equipment and tools at the Oxygen and Dissous Gas Factory.
Between 1988 and 2021, he worked at the Ministry of Industry and its successors. He first joined the expert group of the Deputy Minister responsible for electronics and electrotechnical matters. From 1993, he was the head of the secretariat of the Deputy State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Then, he worked at the Industrial Policy Department; between 2000 and 2006, he headed the Processing Industry Department of the department. From 2008, he was a senior professional advisor at the Innovation and Research and Development Department. From 2014, he worked as a head and chief government advisor at the Industry and Construction Economy Department and its successors. During his long-term work in public administration, he participated in the development of development policy concepts for the electronics industry and the automotive industry; several proposals and draft laws adopted by governments can be attributed to him.
He has published scientific articles in professional journals on the processes of the global and domestic electronics industry. He is the editor of the periodical Elektronet.
Honors and awards: Eötvös Lóránd Award (Ministry of National Development and Economy, 2010); Prime Minister's Diploma for the work done during the EU Presidency ((Office of the Prime Minister, 2011); Lónyay Award (Ministry of National Economy, 2016); Ministerial Certificate of Recognition (Minister of Economy, 1999; Minister of Economy and Transport, 2005; Minister of Innovation and Technology, 2020).
