György Páris
Between 1958 and 1965, he worked on the development of geophysical instruments at the Optical Research Institute of the Geophysical Instrument Factory.
Between 1965 and 1970, he participated in the exploration of prognostic possibilities that could be used in the organization of research in the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA Research Institute of Technical Physics, MTA Science Organization Group). From 1970 to 1974, as the head of the First Department of Natural Sciences of the Central Office of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, he participated in the preparation and implementation of the reform of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, including the development of computer technology and instrumentation for research.
Between 1974 and 1980, as head of the Department of Science Organization and Computer Science of the Ministry of Education (OM), he was responsible for developing the research grant system for the research centers affiliated with the OM, announcing and implementing grants. He was also responsible for developing the computer infrastructure of higher education institutions – within the framework of the Central Computer Development Program (SZKFP).
Between 1980 and 1994, as director of the Institute of Science Organization and Informatics (TII) and then of the Science Organization and Computer Technology Company (Tudorg), he was responsible for coordinating the planning and implementation of development programs aimed at spreading the education and application of computer technology in both higher and secondary education, as well as in the fields of public education and culture. He also coordinated the planning and implementation of the first school computer program.
His awards: Silver Medal of Merit for Service to the Homeland (Minister of the Interior, 1982, 1983); Neumann Prize (NJSZT, 1984); Prometheus Prize (Eötvös Loránd Physics Society, 1985); Silver Medal of Merit for Labor (1986).
