Akos Odry
He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics with a specialization in embedded and control systems, as well as control and robotic systems. He spent one semester in the MSc program in mechatronics at the Vrije Universiteit in Brussels, and then one semester in Bondorf, Germany, where he worked as a software developer at the American company Ametek. The title and topic of his PhD thesis is: New Soft Computing-based Methods in Sensor Fusion and Control: Applications on a Real Mechatronic System (Óbuda University).
Since 2015, he has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Systems and Control Engineering of the Institute of Informatics at the University of Dunaújváros. In addition, he has been an associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged since 2021.
Participant in several industrial research projects (development of intelligent thermal insulation robot arm; development of field electrical impedance spectrum measuring equipment). From 2023, he will be the lead researcher of a winning application submitted to the OTKA (National Scientific Research Basic Programs) young researcher excellence program (on the topic of localization of mobile robots).
He has been a member of the Hungarian Fuzzy Society (MFT) since 2020, and its secretary since 2021. His other memberships include: IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers); IEEE RAS (Robotics and Automation Society); IEEE SMC (Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society); and MTA public body member.
In 2022, the Hungarian Fuzzy Society awarded him the Youth Award, and in 2023, the National Institute of Fuzzy Logic awarded him the János Kemény Award.
