    After graduating from university, he worked at the Budapest Geodetic and Cartographic Company until 1991: In the beginning (1970-85) he worked as a program developer, system organizer, and senior associate (his most important works: the development of the first Hungarian geodetic base point database manager and the first domestic geodetic base point network adjustment systems). Later (1985-87) he became the head of the Computer Center (digital data collection technologies aimed at producing digital land survey base maps), the head of the Information Technology Office (1987-89) (the first domestic land survey base map change management system), and then (from 1989) he became the head of the technical development and computer technology department (the first domestic settlement management information system). Meanwhile, in 1981, he received reserve officer training at the Cartographic Institute of the Hungarian People's Army (MN): As a first lieutenant, he acquired the qualification of a geodesist and cartographer chief technician.

    Between 1991 and 2000, he worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FM) in the implementation of the reform of the land and cartography sector (computerization of the land registry network, introduction of digital data management). Between 1991 and 1996, he was the Chief Advisor of the Department of Land and Cartography (modernization of land registries, IT development). Between 1996 and 1997, he was the Head of the Department of Land and Cartography and the Department of Land Surveying and Informatics (National Cadastral Program (NKP); map-based integrated real estate registration system (TAKAROS); telecommunication network between land registries (TAKARNET); digital base map (DAT) standard). Between 1999 and 2000, he was the Ministerial Commissioner for Land at the FM, Head of the Department of Land and Cartography (land privatization, supervision of the National Land Registry, preparation of draft land registration and land law).

    Since 2000, he has been the director of the Geometria Kft. business unit (developing the GIS background for agricultural statistics in the Central Statistical Office; developing the GIS subsystem of the Integrated Administration and Control System of the Ministry of Defence and the Defense Administration Information System (KTIR) of the Ministry of Defence). Since 2007, he has also performed the duties of GIS business unit director of the company's subsidiary, graphIT Kft. (developing the GIS segment of the Border Guard Activity Support System (HTTR).
    Since 2009, he has worked as an independent GIS expert for numerous state administration, local government and higher education institutions (e.g.: Ministry of the Interior, Surveying and Remote Sensing Institute (FÖMI), Törökbálint City Government, Corvinus University of Budapest, Environmental Management and Law Association (EMLA)).

    He has more than 160 publications in the fields of geospatial information, real estate registration, base mapping, land administration, application of information technologies, etc., as well as two computer science textbooks. He has taught at the Budapest University of Technology (BME) in the framework of professional engineering training and at the Institute of Continuing Education in Law at Eötvös József University of Science (ELTE).
    He is or was a member of several professional organizations: International Geodetic Association (IAG) Management of Geodetic Data Working Group (1980-1983); Hungarian Society of Surveying, Cartography and Remote Sensing (1970- ); Geoinformatics Subcommittee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Geodetic Scientific Committee (1991-2000); Photogrammetry Subcommittee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Geodetic Scientific Committee (1997-1999); Budapest and Pest County Chamber of Engineers (1992-2002).
    He was awarded the Antal Fasching Prize (FM, 1995).
