    From 1985, he was a research assistant at the Theoretical Laboratory of the Computer Research Institute (SZKI), and then joined Emőke Kovács's research on optical character recognition (OCR). The two of them worked together to produce version 1.0 of the OCR program Recognita by 1987.

    In 1987, he earned a doctorate in computer systems design from the Budapest University of Technology (BME).

    In 1989, he was one of the founders and deputy development director of SzKI-Recognita Rt.. Since 1994, he has been one of the owners of Recosoft Kft.. The company researched and developed OCR technology for Recognita. Since 2002, he has been Chief OCR Scientist, head of OCR development at Scansoft-Recognita Rt.. His main development topic is the OmniPage Capture SDK program library. Since 2006, the company has been called Nuance-Recognita Zrt., where he continues to manage the development of OmniPage OCR components.

    In 2007, he was an invited speaker at the American SPIE (Society of Photographic Instrumentation Engineers) Document Recognition and Retrieval conference.

    Awards: For Excellent Work (National Technical Development Committee, 1987); Kalmár Award (NJSZT, 1989); Széchenyi Award (shared, 1991).
