    He completed his university studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology (BME VIK); he earned a second degree in computer science and defended his doctoral degree there.

    In December 1993, he created Hungary's first web server; and his name is also associated with, among other things, the initiation of research related to the application of the new generation Internet Protocol (IPv6) in Hungary, the creation of the first Hungarian research-purpose supercomputer, and the introduction of IP (Internet Protocol)-based videoconferencing systems in Hungary.

    From 2000 to 2016, he was the Deputy Technical Director of the Hungarian higher education and research network, the NIIF (National Information Infrastructure Development Program).
    In 2020, the Hungarian HPC (High Performance Computing) Competence Center (HPC@hu) was established under his leadership.

    From 2023, he will be a member of the Hungarian Research Network (HUN-REN) Computer Science and Automation Research Institute (SZTAKI), where he will participate in the work of the Parallel and Distributed Systems Research Laboratory (LPDS); among other things, he will work on quantum computing.

    He also taught at the BME VIK for almost 2 decades; and he also gave lectures on computer networks at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Information Technology (PPKE ITK).
    He holds positions in several domestic and international professional organizations.
