Zoltán Ádám Mann
During his engineering studies, he studied for two semesters at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Karlsruhe. Since obtaining his two diplomas and his doctorate, he has been partly engaged in IT consulting and partly in university teaching and research.
Between 2004 and 2007, he worked as a software engineer and IT consultant at Software Design & Management (sd&m AG) in Munich. Between 2007 and 2010, he was a senior IT and management consultant at AAM Management IT Consulting Zrt. and Proponens Kft. Between 2010 and 2014, he was the IT consulting business manager at Capgemini Hungary Kft.
Since 2007, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science and Information Theory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (VIK), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), and since 2010, an associate professor. Between 2011 and 2014, he received the János Bolyai Research Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2015, he completed his habilitation at BME.
Since 2016, he has been a researcher at the Universität Duisburg-Essen in Germany.
His theoretical work in the field of computer science covers optimization problems, algorithms and complexity issues, while his practical applications include software development, cloud computing and computer architectures. He is the author of a significant number of publications, scientific articles, conference presentations and books.
His main awards: Kató Rényi Prize (Bolyai János Mathematical Society, 2000); Pro Scientia Gold Medal (MTA, 2001); János Kemény Prize (NJSZT, 2009); Outstanding Young Lecturer Award of the Faculty (BME VIK, 2014).
