Edit Majtényi

Between 1966 and 1970, he worked as a programming mathematician at the Computer Engineering and Management Company (SZÜV), where he used the ALGOL and then COBOL languages.

Between 1970 and 1987, he was head of the database management group at the Central Statistical Office's Information Technology Department (he organized the data of the office's professional departments into a database using the MARK IV file management system).

Between 1987 and 1995, he was the head of department at the National Planning Office (OT), and then at the Institute of Informatics and Methodology at the Ministry of Finance (PM).

He popularized the use of SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and participated in SUGI (SAS Usergroup) meetings with presentations. He gave presentations at IFIP (International Federation on Information Processing) international meetings.
