Walter Krafft
After graduating, he worked as a high school teacher for a year at the Bolyai High School in Salgótarján.
The following year, he worked on operations research (linear programming) at the Institute of Industrial Economics, Organization and Computer Science of the Ministry of Metallurgy and Mechanical Industry (KGM ISZSZI).
Between 1970 and 1995, he worked at the Marx Károly University of Economics ( MKKE ). Initially, he was a scientific associate at the Informatics Research Group, head of the departmental computer center; then he was a lecturer at the Institute of Mathematics and the Department of Computer Science as an assistant professor. (Notable projects that were implemented at the department under his leadership: the material management system of the Szeged Clothing Factory; the Practicomp-PC operating system and programming environment; XHELP - modeled program development based on HIPO/PASCAL; C_ASE Integrated C development environment for the development of dialog applications; business management package for PC networks using the C_ASE method; Integrated National Admission System.)
He then worked as a "freelancer" until 2017 - in the fields of software development methods and tools, application development and quality assurance. In the meantime, between 1980 and 2004 - with interruptions - he worked as a software developer and quality assurance manager in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
- His first wife was Júlia Szörényi, a geological engineer and soil mechanic, after whose death he met his second wife, Márta Jakabfi; they have been together since 2009. The family consists of 4 children and 8 grandchildren. (2025 report.)
- Hobbies: extreme sports (rock and mountain climbing, whitewater and sea kayaking, high-altitude ski touring).
- Since 2009, he has also been involved in the value-saving renovation and utilization of folk architectural monuments (houses, press houses).
