Magda Kovacs
From 1995 he was a development and design engineer at ORION, the Building Engineering and Electrical Design Company (ÉVITERV) and the Csepel Metal Works, and from 1963 he was a chief engineer at the Automation Company of the Ministry of Metallurgy and Mechanical Industry (KGM). From 1973 he worked as a senior scientific associate at the Information Technology Research Institute (HIKI).
One of the pioneers of Hungarian distance education; in 1979, he established the LSI (Large-Scale Integration) Informatics Education Center Foundation for the Culture of Microelectronics Application, and its working organization, the LSI Informatics Education Center, of which he was the head. In 1992, in cooperation with the Computer Application Company (Számalk), the Gábor Dénes College (GDF) was founded, which taught using an open distance education method. At the GDF, he was the head of the Department of Computer Systems and System Software and the Institute of Informatics Systems. From 1992 to 1997, he was the general director of the college, and then from 2002 to 2004, he was its first rector. - He has published 134 professional publications.
From 2004, he was an honorary professor at the Zrínyi Miklós National Defense University (ZMNE).
His awards: Medal for Youth (1986); Silver Medal of the Order of Merit for Labor (1987); Medal for Socialist Culture (1989); Tarján Award (NJSZT, 1992); ERCOLE D'ORO Ad iniziativa dell' Accademia Internazionale per gli Studi Economici e Sociali (Rome) Award (1993); Middle Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (1997); Gábor Dénes Award (Novofer Foundation, 2000); Gábor Dénes Award (GDF, 2004).
