Sándor Kiss
Between 1966 and 1969, he designed the power supply for the six-patient general patient monitoring system (ABR) at the Development Department of Medicor Works. He and his colleagues prepared a concept plan for the automatic processing of patient data, but the project was postponed.
From 1969, he was a maintenance engineer for the ICL 1901 type computer of the United Incandescent Lamp and Electricity Co., Ltd., and then the head of the computer technology group until 1972.
From 1972 he was the head of the Department of Computer Technology of the Ministry of Labor (MÜM SZÁMTI), and from 1975 he headed the development department. He led the design and installation of a small computer group data entry system, remote data processing and remote terminal query systems. They prepared a plan for a national computer network for labor, which was not implemented due to the dissolution of the ministry in 1980.
Between 1977 and 1980, he transferred his four-person development team to the TPA project department of Volán Tröszt Elektronika. As a computer consultant, he managed the construction of Volán's six-computer TPA-based national sample network. After the successful implementation, additional TPA computers were installed at Volán companies in the countryside.
Between 1982 and 1987, he was the commercial secretary of the Hungarian Embassy in Tokyo, handling the affairs of 27 foreign trade companies. He supported the export of Hungarian electronics/IT companies (Graphisoft, HIFI, IQSOFT, MFKI, Semilab Semiconductor Physics Laboratory Co. Ltd.). He actively participated in the introduction of the Rubik's Cube logic game to the Japanese market.
He was the managing director of Rubik Studio between 1987 and 1992. In a joint venture with Ernő Rubik, he helped to realize the world traveling exhibition Beyond the Cube between 2009 and 2016.
Between 1992 and 1997, he was a commercial counselor at the Hungarian Embassy in Tokyo. He helped more than 20 Japanese companies establish their companies in Hungary. In 1994, he created the first English-language website for the foreign branches of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Membership: Member of the International Computer Association (ICA) in Japan from 1983 to 1998, vice-president from 1985/86. Founding member of the Hungarian-Japanese Economic Club, president since 2003. Organizer of the events of the MÜM SZÁMTI circle of friends.
Awards: Pro Turismo (Hungarian Tourist Service, 1996); Excellent Foreign Trader (Minister of Trade and Tourism, 1997); Order of the Rising Sun, Golden Rays with Collar (Emperor of Japan, 2010).

- He is one of the founders of the Hungarian-Japanese Friendship Sumo Cup.
- Between 2004 and 2009, he was a member of the board of directors of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, and in 2005 he was appointed acting CEO.
- Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academia Humana Foundation since 1999.
- In 2005, at the request of the International Business School (IBS), he developed a course called “Cultural History of Telecommunication”, which he taught in English for 5 years.
