    He worked at the Institute of Continuing Medical Education, then at the Haynal Imre University of Health Sciences (HIETE), and later at the Semmelweis University of Medicine (SOTE) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Internal Medicine. From 1980 he was a university professor, then from 1993 to 1999 he was a department head at the Department of Medical Informatics at SOTE. From 1999 he was the medical director of International Medical Services Ltd. (IMS), and from 2010 he was the director of the Cardiology Diagnostics and Hypertension Center.

    Between 1990 and 1998, he was a member of the presidency of the Hungarian Society of Cardiologists, then vice-president. Between 1990 and 1998, he was the president of the Hungarian Society of Health Informatics (MEIT). From 2002 to 2013, he was one of the national coordinators of the "Live below 140/90 mm Hg" movement. From 2010, he was one of the founders of the "Hungarian Comprehensive Health Screening Program 2010-2020" (MAESZ) and a member of the program committee.

    He defended his PhD thesis in 1972. Since 1975, he has been a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Informatics Scientific Committee. He is a member of the board of several international scientific societies. In 1993, he founded the Hungarian Hypertension Society. He was the organizer of 18 domestic and 6 international congresses.

    He was the editor-in-chief of the journal Hypertonia és Nephrologia from 2003. He was a founding member of the Advisory Board of the scientific journal Interdisciplinary Hungarian Health Care (IME) (2000).

    He was the co-creator of CORONARIA, the COCARD coronary disease diagnostic expert systems and the ESZTER complex health care and advisory system (1988-1989). He is the co-author of the programmed ECG textbook ECG Atlas (1996). He is responsible for the introduction of multimedia examination systems (1992), the introduction of the transtelephonic ECG system in Hungary (2007), and the introduction of the Mesidence (Telenor-OMRON) remote monitoring system into the patient monitoring and elderly care system (2010-2012). – He was the co-creator of the Hungarian Hypertension Registry and its operator from 2002 to 2015.

    Since 2018, he has been a scientific expert at the Internal Medicine Clinic No. 1 of the University of Pécs (PTE). University examiner (in the subjects of internal medicine, cardiology, and hypertension). Between 1997-1998, he taught the subject Health Informatics at the IT department of the University of Veszprém (VE). Between 1998-2005, he taught IT at the Business Administration department of the Faculty of Medicine of Debrecen (DOTE) and took the state examination.
