Pál Karádi
From 1967 to 2006, he worked in computer technology development organizations established at the Central Physics Research Institute (KFKI) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which then became independent after the change of regime.
Initially, as a member of a young team, he participated in the development of the first integrated circuit version of the TPA minicomputer. Later, as a department manager, he and his colleagues created the hardware/software conditions for TPA's business automation applications, enabling the decentralization of computing in state administration and large companies.
The success of the established national computer networks (Ministry of Finance, Central Statistical Office, Hungarian Post, Water, Mining, etc.) was due to the diverse and deep hardware/software/network expertise available in the research institute environment.
Following the 1990 regime change, as one of the founders of KFKI Számítástechnikai Rt., he integrated the experience and expertise accumulated in the Group and managed the creation of complex task-solving systems in financial institutions (e.g. OTP), large companies (e.g. MÁV) and state administration (e.g. Ministry of Defense) amidst the new conditions.
After retirement, he founded the Quintess group of companies, which deals with health prevention, within the framework of which he created research and development projects and further training programs.
Awards: Institute Award, 1st degree (KFKI, 1972); Excellent Inventor Gold Award (MTA, 1974 and 1986).
