    He has been an employee of the Department of Measurement Technology and Information Systems, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (VIK), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) since 1976, and has been a university professor since 2007. He was the head of the department between 2011 and 2015. He primarily teaches in the Health (Biomedical) Engineering program, of which he was also the subject manager from the time it was announced as a master's program (2009) until 2021. Professor emeritus from 2021.
    In 2007, he obtained a doctorate degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and habilitation.
    In 1991, he spent a year as a visiting researcher at the Delft University of Technology.

    He has held various leadership positions in the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), an international organization of biomedical engineers integrating 9 international organizations and approximately 130,000 individual members from 66 countries, since 1995.
    He has been involved in the organization of several significant international conferences in biomedical engineering, most notably the IFMBE European Medical and Biological Engineering Conference (EMBEC 2011) held in Budapest in 2011, of which he was the chairman.

    Between 1993 and 2003, he was the secretary and from 2003, the president, of the Medical Engineering Department of the Hungarian Association for Measurement Technology and Automation (MATE); from 2018, the department was absorbed by the Medical Biology Department of the Hungarian National University of Health Sciences.

    He served in the educational organization of the Technical University for twenty-one years; between 2012 and 2015 he was the Vice-Rector for Education. Between 2008 and 2011 he was a member of the National Credit Council.
    Between 2012 and 2018, he was a member of the Plenary of the Hungarian Higher Education Accreditation Board (MAB), President of the University Teachers' and Doctoral College, Co-Chair of the Technical Science Committee; between 2013 and 2018, Vice-Chair of the MAB.

    During his research and development activities, he participated in the development of intelligent controllers for several medical devices. His main area of expertise is the medical/clinical application of motion analysis in early diagnosis and objective assessment of patients' condition, as well as home health monitoring, especially the measurement of blood pressure for diagnostic purposes.

    Honors: Széchenyi Professorial Scholar between 1998-2001. Kruspér István Award (MATE, 2000); Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (2008); MEDING Dr. Zoltán Katona Memorial Medal; Pro Juventute Universitatis Award (BME - on the recommendation of the University Student Representative Council, 2015); Pro Universitate Silver Degree (Semmelweis University, 2015 and 2018); József Nádor Award (BME, 2018). He received the IFMBE Honorary Life Member award in 2015, and in 2020, on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of IUPESM, he became one of the 58 Fellows of the organization.
