Peter Ihrig
He is a central figure in Hungarian computer exhibitions and fairs. He started working with computers, computer technology, and computer marketing at the Institute of Industrial Economics and Operations Management (NIM IGÜSZI) of the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
He was an active organizer of the ORGTECHNIK Organizational and Computer Science Exhibitions organized by the Organization and Management Scientific Society (SZVT), of which 7 were organized until 1988. At that time, the exhibition was reorganized/merged under the name Compfair with the strengthening of computer science, and it was organized under his leadership. The Compfair exhibition was the annual major demonstration of Hungarian computer science enterprises in the HUNGEXPO area. It was organized until 2000, when, in accordance with the development of world trends, interest in domestic trade fairs ceased.
To organize exhibitions, he established COMPEXPO Computer, Event Management and Trade Ltd. in 1990 (in the form of an American-Hungarian joint venture), of which he was the managing director.
On his initiative, the Hungarian Association of Event Organizers (Maresz) was founded in 1992 with the participation of 14 companies.
At the end of his life, he taught marketing at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE).
