  • Civil Engineer - BME - 1956.
  • applied mathematician - ELTE - 1966.
  • Academic degree:
Candidate of Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences - 1972 – Engineering

Between 1953 and 1956, he was a demonstrator at the Department of Minerals and Geology of the Budapest University of Technology (BME). Between 1956 and 1963, he worked in construction engineering and then in structural design at the Structural Department of the Mining Design Institute, where he participated in the design of more than 70 structures.

Until 1989, he was a researcher and department head in technical computer technology at various research institutes (Ministry of Heavy Industry Computerization Center, Construction Computer Technology and Management Automation Company, Institute of Building Sciences).

He has been teaching at the Budapest University of Technology (BME) since 1965. In 1966 he received a diploma in applied mathematics from ELTE. In 1965 he was awarded a doctorate in engineering from BME ("Explanation of fractures and folds in the earth's crust based on the membrane shell theory"). In 1972 he was awarded a candidate of technical sciences ("New numerical method for the computer calculation of surface structures"). In 1986 he was awarded an honorary associate professor at BME.

Since 1989, he has been working full-time at the Informatics Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, BME. In 1995, he habilitated at BME. He retired in 1995. From 1996 to 2003, he taught mathematics as a college professor at Gábor Dénes College (GDF).

His research areas include mathematical linguistics, abstract design theory, intelligent systems, and machine-aided design. He has published four books, four notes, and over a hundred articles (in twenty foreign languages and four abroad).

He was a member of several academic committees (Mechanical, Architectural), most recently the Dimensioning Subcommittee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Mechanical Engineering Academic Committee. He was a member of the international group European Group for Structural Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence. For many years, within the framework of the Hungarian Hydrological Society, the Architectural Association and the Hungarian Society of Civil Engineering, he promoted the greatness of the engineering profession as an engineering geologist, hydraulic engineer-statist and computer technician in these fields - as part of human culture.

The Hydrological Society recognized his long relationship with certificates. The Hungarian Hydrological Society awarded him a lifetime achievement award in 2011.
