    Between 1973 and 1990 he worked at the Telecommunications Research Institute (TKI), and from 1985 he was a scientific leader (development of a data transmission modem family; design methods for special electronic filters). Meanwhile, between 1977 and 1979 he was a visiting researcher at University College, Dublin - on the topic of approximation of electronic filters. He defended his PhD in 1985 in the field of telecommunications. Between 1985 and 1990 he was the head of the Space Telecommunications Equipment and Systems Department of TKI and the developer of several circuits of the terrestrial channel formation equipment (Intercsat) of the INTERSPUTNIK system.

    Since 1990, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Telecommunications and Media Informatics (TMIT) of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (VIK) of the Budapest University of Technology (BME), and since 2013, he has been a scientific advisor. He is the founding head of the “Telecommunication Networks and Services” undergraduate course and the “Infocommunication Networks” specialization in the BME VIK engineering informatics training program, and he is also the founding head of the “Analytical Business Intelligence” specialization in the BME VIK economic informatics training program. He is the developer of the “Smart City” course (BME – National University of Public Service adult training).
    Between 1992 and 2013, he was the founding director of the High-Speed Networks Laboratory (HSN Lab) at BME.

    From 1997 to 1999 he was a researcher at University College Dublin.

    From 2007, he was the chairman of the BME VIK Education Committee, and then from 2009 to 2011, he was the founding chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee. Between 2010 and 2013, he was the head of the TMIT department. He was the founder of the Dual MSc programs at BME VIK. He was an honorary university professor at BME VIK.

    Research area: Digital signal processing. Infocommunication networks.

    Scientific organizational membership: Hungarian Academy of Sciences Telecommunications Systems Committee, National Research and Development Program Council, International Federation for Information Processing.

    His awards: Pollák–Virág Prize (Communications and Informatics Scientific Association, HTE, 1982); Tivadar Puskás Prize (HTE, 1991, 2006); Széchényi Prize (shared, 1999), Dénes Gábor Prize (Novofer Foundation, 2003); László Kozma Memorial Medal (BME, 2005); Pro Facultate Prize (BME VIK, 2013).
