Gergely Héja
After graduating, he taught at the University for two years.
His interest and activities soon turned towards the research and development of medical knowledge representation and terminology systems. After teaching, he joined the Health Strategic Research Institute (ESKI, later: Pharmaceutical and Health Quality and Organization Development Institute - GyEMSZI) and the State Health Care Center (ÁEEK). After the turn of the millennium, he worked in the eHealth program (in the fields of theoretical preparation, development of biomedical ontologies and terminologies, and standardization of electronic transmission of health data). He represented Hungary in the European Union epSOS program (The European Patient Smart Open Services) and worked for the ECDC (European Center for Disease Prevention and Control). The implementation of the ePrescription service (electronic version of paper-based prescriptions) is also due to his work in the field of Hungarian healthcare IT infrastructure.
During his work, he published valuable insights into the development possibilities of medical concept management, ontologies, and terminologies.
He currently (as of 2022) works at evosoft Hungary Kft. and is a part-time lecturer at the Department of Measurement Engineering and Information Systems (MIT) at BME.
