Peter Halacsy
He graduated from the university with a summa cum laude qualification.
Even before graduating, he participated in the creation of the Origo (formerly Matávnet, later Axelero) internet portal (where he also prepared an 800-page report on the uses of the internet). He has been an IT specialist at Origo since 2000, and as its project manager, he developed the editorial system.
Since 2002, he has been a teaching and research assistant at the Media Education and Research Center (MOKK) of the Budapest University of Technology (BME); he has taught on the cultural and social aspects of network communication. He is a PhD student at the Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) (his research areas are machine learning, natural language processing and information retrieval).
In 2007, he founded the Kitchen Budapest innovation lab, of which he is the development manager.
In 2008, he created the Prezi presentation software and the company Prezi founded with Péter Árvai and Ádám Somlai-Fischer. He led product development until 2015.
In 2015, he and his wife founded the Budapest School, which he has been leading ever since.
He is the founder of the "Heroes' Square, Bridge Budapest" business attitude-shaping movement, a non-profit organization founded by Hungarian entrepreneurs with the aim of ensuring that as many business actors as possible have a conscious and long-term strategy that they leave behind for the next generations.
The National Academy of Sciences and Humanities awarded him the Kalmár Award in 2010.
