Laszlo Haklar
Based on our data, it appears that after graduating, he taught at the College of Accountancy, where he became involved in writing higher education notes in the field of accounting.
In the 1960s (at the earliest in 1963), he worked as an organizer at the Ministry of Construction's Computerization and Management Organization Company (ÉM Számgép), where he dealt with the development and adaptation of corporate management models, data processing work, and the applications of computers in the construction industry.
From 1968 he became deputy head of department at the Information Processing Laboratory (Infelor).
From mid-1969 he was the director of the Ministry of Finance Computer Center (PMSZK).
Then, between 1981 and 1987, he was the director of the Financial Computing Institute (PSZTI), the successor to the PMSZK.
During these years, as director, he managed the development and operation of the Financial Information System (PIR) serving macro-level financial management at the PMSZK/PSZTI, which was then the state administration IT system with the largest IT asset base in the country. The system was operated until the mid-1990s.
He also participated in the preparation of health calculations.
Between 1986 and 1989, he was the director of the Institute at the College of Finance and Accounting (PSZF). He taught at the PSZF and its predecessor institution for 25 years. He also taught at the National Leadership Training Center (OVK) and the University Computer Center.
He was a speaker at statistical informatics traveling meetings and numerous conferences and events.
Between 1988 and 1990 he was the managing director of Siemens Ltd.
From 1991, he was the President and CEO of Siemens Hungary Rt. – until his unexpected death in 1994. Under his leadership, the business divisions of the joint-stock company were developed.
His publishing activity is significant; he is the author of numerous books, textbooks and professional articles.
He was a member and official of several professional societies and committees. He was the president of the Joint Venture Association, vice president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce. He was also the president of the State Administration Informatics Development Company (ÁIFT). He was also a member of the National Association of Information Technology (NJSZT).
He was a member of the organizing committee of the IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing) “International Seminar in Administrative Data Processing Hungary 1969”, a six-month English-language data processing seminar held for young professionals from developing countries.
