Géza Haidegger
From the time he graduated from university until his retirement, his only job was at the Computer Science and Automation Research Institute (SZTAKI) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Under his leadership, the Informatics Protocol Training Centre (MAP Training Centre for Manufacturing Automation) was established, where he managed numerous research and educational projects. He is the coordinator of the SZTAKI EU Informatics and Automation Excellence Centre ("HUN-TING") project.
He has performed research and development tasks in the fields of manufacturing automation, robotics, and network-based control systems. He has participated in numerous international R&D working groups, sometimes as a consortium leader.
He has given university lectures as an invited speaker in India, Egypt, Greece, the USA, North and South Korea, Japan, Australia and at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME).
He is an honorary professor at Amity University (India).
He has held leading roles in international standardization organizations and working groups. For several years, he represented Hungarian professional companies in the EUREKA international research, development and innovation (R&D) community.
He is an active member of several Hungarian and some international professional organizations, such as the Hungarian Mechanical Engineering Scientific Association (GTE), the Hungarian Telecommunications and Informatics Scientific Association (HTE), the World Federation of Map/Top Users' Group (WFMTUG), the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).
He has authored more than 200 professional publications, mostly in English.
As a board member of the ManuFuture European Technology Platform, which focuses on the manufacturing technology of the future, he strives to strengthen Hungarian partners in the European blood circulation.
