Kálmán Faur
After graduating from university, he joined the Electronics Department of the Volán Trust (from the 1980s: Volán Elektronika Számítástechnikai Vállalat), which was his main workplace.
He headed the technical design department from 1979. From 1987 he became the managing director of Mikro Volán Elektronika Kft., and then from 1991 he became the president and CEO of Volán Elektronika.
From 2006, he also became the CEO of LIBRA SZOFTVER Fejlesztő Zrt., which was founded as a majority owner of Volán Elektronika; later, he became the chairman of the board of directors.
From 2017, with the downsizing of state-owned companies - including Volán - the acquisition of competing companies became part of its business policy (Soft Consulting Hungary Zrt., Memolux Kft., VT-Soft Kft.).
Outside of computer science, he is the founder and manager of several insurance, credit fund and other organizations. From 1996 he became the vice-president of the Volán Association; from the same year the Transportation Credit Association was launched, of which he is the founder and president-director. In 1998 he founded the Volán Voluntary Pension Fund, of which he was the first managing director. Also in 1988 he was the founder of the Volán Property Insurance Association and in 1999 the Volán Health Fund.
Since 2000, he has been an honorary associate professor at the College of Finance and Accounting (PSZF).
Awards: Fényes Elek Memorial Medal (2000); Hungarian Innovation Grand Prize (Hungarian Innovation Association, MISZ, 2001).
