Laszlo Csemniczky
Until 1980, he worked as an engineer at the Cartography Company on geodetic fieldwork in Hungary and abroad (Austria, West Germany, Nigeria).
Between 1980 and 1983 he was a development engineer, and from 1983 he was a lecturer at the Department of General and Advanced Geodesy of the Budapest University of Technology (BME). He is one of the responsible persons for the operation of the closed-loop geodetic-photogrammetric system operating at the department. He participated in the geodetic works of units 1-4 of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant and in the design works of the Road and Railway Design Company (UVATERV) in Libya.
In 1993, he founded DigiKom Geodesy and Geoinformatics Ltd., of which he has been the managing director ever since. For years, he managed German export work, then construction geodesy and municipal geoinformatics projects.
Member of the Geodesy and Cartography Association (later MFTTT) since 1966. Chairman of the Engineering Geodesy Section from 1978 to 2013, then member of the board. Secretary of the 6th Engineering Geodesy Committee of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) between 1983 and 1986, chairman of the CAD/CAM Committee; member of the board of directors of the AM/FM (Automated Mapping/Facilities Management) European Division since 1990.
In 1993, he founded the AM/FM-GIS Hungary Association, later known as the gita Technical Geospatial Information & Technology Association; he was its president and honorary president for 25 years. Since 1990, he has been a member of the Hungarian Engineers' Association, then the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, and from 1998, he was the president of the Geodesy and Geoinformatics Section for two terms.
He is an honorary member of the Transylvanian Hungarian Technical Scientific Society (EMT).
Number of publications: 32 in Hungarian, 14 in foreign languages.
His awards: Hazay István Memorial Medal (Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, 2010); Márton Gyárfás Memorial Medal (EMT and MFTTT, 2019); Builders' Day Ministerial Diploma in 2017.
