    Between 1978 and 1986, he worked on mathematical algorithms and software development at the Computer Research Institute (Számki). In 1982, he was a scientific fellow at the Technical University of Copenhagen, and then earned a doctorate from the József Attila University of Szeged (JATE); he defended his PhD dissertation in 1982.

    Between 1986 and 1990, he managed the adaptation of system software and the development of applications as the department head of the Computer Applications Company (Számalk).

    He was one of the founders of the Hungarian subsidiary of the American Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), established in 1990; he later became the company's commercial director. In 1994, he was the CEO of Digital Hungary, and in 1998, after the merger of Compaq Computer Corporation (Compaq) and DEC, he was the head of Compaq in Hungary (as the first such high-ranking manager from the region). Under his CEOship, Compaq introduced PC and storage manufacturing, as well as a regional enterprise management system (SAP: Systemanalyse und Programmentwicklung) to Hungary, and also established a Technology Support Center.

    From 2000, in addition to maintaining his Hungarian mandate, he also served as CEO of the Central and Eastern European country group, which includes the Czech, Polish and Slovak Compaq subsidiaries. From 2002, after the merger of Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) and Compaq, he was CEO of HP Hungary. Under his leadership, the company won the National Quality Award, the National Innovation Award, the Tódor Kármán Award, the Business Ethics Award and the title of Inclusive Company.

    He joined the world's leading mobile telecommunications company, Vodafone Group Plc. (Vodafone), in 2007, serving as CEO of the Hungarian subsidiary. He was the Chairman and CEO of Vodafone Hungary Zrt. from 2011, and then its Chairman until 2019. In his first three years of leadership, he won the Vodafone Business Ethics Award, the Napi Gazdaság Innovation Award, the Figyelő Top 200 Social Commitment Award, and the Huawei European Data Technology Innovation Award.

    Co-chair of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ).
    President of the Hungarian National Union of Teachers from 2018 to 2024; then honorary president from 2025.
