    After his university studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Informatics of the University of Szeged (SZTE), then became an assistant professor, assistant professor; later, he became an associate professor at the Department of Image Processing and Computer Graphics. He is a part-time research associate of the TeWaTi research group operating at the Department of Optics and Quantum Electronics. He regularly leads exercises for core, specialized and elective subjects, gives lectures and special colloquiums. Several of his students have won awards at Scientific Student Circle Conferences (TDK) and National TDKs.

    His research interests include digital image processing, including image reconstruction, discrete tomography and artificial intelligence methods. He has visited foreign universities on numerous occasions with scholarships or as a visiting researcher, and has participated in domestic and international projects as a leader or member. He regularly reviews for journals and serves on conference committees. He obtained his PhD in mathematics and computer science in 2008. He was awarded the János Bolyai Research Scholarship between 2009-2012 and the Zoltán Magyary Postdoctoral Scholarship between 2013-2014. He received his habilitation in computer science in 2014.

    He is a member of the Hungarian Society of Image Processing and Face Recognition, the Hungarian Society of Image Processing and Face Recognition, and the General Body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

    Awards: János Kemény Award (NJSZT, 2009); SZTE Innovation Award (SZTE, 2017); Scientific Award (SZTE Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics, 2018).
