The computer center, which was built in cooperation with KFKI and was based on a TPA 1148 computer configuration with multiple terminal access options and graphic peripherals, provided a good opportunity to perform computer tasks at the corporate level. The BENSON graphic peripherals were suitable for visual display and drawing. An ARISTO A1-sized digitizer was also part of the system.

- and the Gabcikovo—Nagymaros Water Barrier system. The static calculations of the latter were performed on the NIMIGÜSZI Elliott 803/B computer under the leadership of Dezső Holnapy.

The establishment was achieved by merging the Agricultural Water Planning Office (MEVITERV), the Hydropower Plant Planning Office (VITI) and the Large Canals Department that had previously operated at the MÉLYÉPTERV.
The Computer Science Department was established in VIZITERV in 1984 from the previously operating computer science unit. The department had 10 employees, of which 4 had a technical degree, 2 had a mathematics degree, and 3 had a computer science degree, and 1 person performed administrative duties.
The basic tasks of the Computer Science Department were as follows:
- Providing computer application development and programming work that matches the company's technical design profile and meets design needs
- operation of self-developed technical and administrative applications and CAD systems.
In the early 90s, with the reorganization of the company, the Computer Engineering Department was discontinued.
