    Transformations

Reorganization in 1997: From 1997, Intergraph Corporation implemented a new commercial strategy, as a result of which sales and service in some countries were entrusted to local distributors and a regional support center was established with headquarters in Prague.

In 1998, Unigraphics Solutions (UGS) acquired Intergraph's (Solid Edge) mechanical design systems development business, which also represented a significant share of the company's domestic operations. Following the international company changes, in 1998 the company's management decided to change its name and from then on it continued its activities under the name graphIT Kft., as the legal successor, exclusively representing Intergraph and Unigraphics in the domestic market.

Over the years, graphIT has become one of the leading GIS and CAD/CAM systems companies on the Hungarian market. The symbolic umbilical cord with Intergraph was cut in 2010, when Hexagon reached an agreement to acquire the US-based software provider Intergraph Corporation for USD 2.125 million.

    Interesting facts

In accordance with the changes, Intergraph Hungary Ltd. was re-established on July 1, 1997.
The most significant development was that the company was taken over by Hungarians, with the majority owner being Geometria Kft. The change of ownership also meant that they acquired the INTERGRAPH brand name, which is considered a huge feat in business. Their new name was Intergraph Grafika Magyarország Informatikai Kft. The manager, at the invitation of János Szilágyi, was Tamás Hennel, who came from ICL Hungary and also became a minority owner of the company. Intergraph Magyarország Kft. was the exclusive domestic distributor of the parent company's products, and its name also showed that it was based on Intergraph's international standards.
